SAMBHAL SLOWLY RETURNS TO NORMALCY AFTER MOSQUE VIOLENCE Sambal is gradually regaining normalcy two days after violence erupted during a court-mandated survey of a Mughal-era mosque. Schools have reopened, and shops selling daily essentials have resumed operations. However, internet services remain suspended, and authorities continue to enforce strict monitoring. Police and Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel remain deployed in sensitive areas, with restrictions on the entry of outsiders and public representatives until November 30. "Normalcy has returned, but we are closely monitoring the situation. So far, 25 arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing based on videography and CCTV footage," said DIG Moradabad. The unrest began on Sunday when a group of people clashed with security forces during the mosque survey, torching vehicles and pelting stones. The violence left four dead and around two dozen injured, including security personnel. Police have registered seven FIRs, naming Sambal MP Zia-urn-Rehman Bar, local MLA Iqbal Mehmood’s son Sohaila Iqbal, and 2,750 unidentified individuals. A magisterial inquiry is underway, with strict actions promised against the culprits. The survey was ordered following a petition claiming a Harihar temple once stood at the site of the mosque. While most parts of the district have calmed, the area around Shahi Jama Masjid remains deserted. Authorities emphasize continued vigilance to prevent further unrest . #shambal #violance #rpf #mla #sjm #nltv #nltvnews .
