Level Name : Escape Level Author : Treasurer Created On : November 2, 2005 Unbelievably, I made it finally!!!! From making a speedrun on it with MPARTUR two years ago, to obtaining a perfect score (albeit a gettable chalice) without cheats in the same monstrous level, which was so mythical for over a span of two decades, with lot of grinds on playthroughs and tactics as well as discoveries from Wapmap, felt like achieving the near impossible thing. Coming to the level, it is not that big like Assassin from Treasurer but more insane in difficulty to the extent that completing it without losing lives was itself an extremely hard thing. But what makes the level so hard is the enormous amount of choke points throughout the level due to the level having almost every moment like a puzzle to be cracked through with some technique and precision. The warp areas and secrets are even more unreachable with normal attempts and that they are even harder to understand through the editor. Summarizing the level, it is divided into two blocks of huge arenas with each of them having an elevator to be triggered to unlock the final route to end of the level. The first half of block is pretty massive and in fact has the most complicated secret puzzle ever demanding the player to go back and forth repetitively without making a single error so that a start elevator is led to the destination (secret right above the starting place). Plenty of nervous moments existed while making sure to not make a single slip during the course of the puzzle and it takes a solid 25 mins to eventually complete the first half of the level. Second half of the level is more difficult on main path rather and doesn't have much topsy-turvy secrets. Survival is the key in second half to the extent that you have to conserve ammunition and magic claws throughout the first half. Especially the peglegs with jumpswitches are highly deadly and are liabilities to even lose treasures. The boss fight indeed wasn't that hard and in fact was fun but the segments before boss-fight were nerve-wrecking. After the boss fight is when you would be led to one of the two trigger elevators and then comes the challenge of ensuring to not lose any life in the process of triggering both elevators since the other elevator actually has a checkpoint due to which one has to redo almost the entire level to successfully trigger the two elevators again. The anxiety level peaks nearing towards the end of the level with some segments and a catnip secret being extremely lethal. After all this strenuous grinds, I eventually missed a chalice in the most embarrassing way possible which in fact I did perfectly in my all other previous attempts. However the best flex is to be completing this entire level with an almost perfect score without using cheats. Also my intention was more on to revealing the mythical secrets and how they connect from the main path.
