My first ever foray into the world of vlogging classic car events - I have to apologise for the wind noise, not for the first time! :) My new Bluetooth microphone has been delayed in the post. There should be much higher sound quality in future videos. Open to any pre-1995 vehicle, this is the seventh time this event has been held. I take a look at an A30 that was very similar to my father's first car and an A35 Van with rear seats that was very similar to one owned by my grandfather. There's a non-turbo 1994 Rover 218 SD originally supplied by Carlyon Bay Garages - there was a time when almost every car in the St Austell area was supplied by CBG but their 'supplied by' stickers and number plates are now as rare as an MG RV8 that wasn't first registered in Japan! The showroom was sadly demolished in 1999 and three houses now stand on the site. It's always interesting to see what has happened to car showrooms from yesteryear - sadly, most are now supermarkets or retirement flats but a few still survive. A very early Sierra Ghia makes an appearance, along with one of the first Ford Orions. The colour of the Orion, Ocean Blue, reminds me of my father's lethargic and extremely noisy 1984 Sierra 2.3 L Diesel that he received as a company car. There are Capris, BMW Threes and E-types aplenty. On reflection, the E-type with the 5 speed manual conversion has a gear knob from a Ford Puma - if you disagree though, please let me know in the comments below. I even spot a horse drawn carriage from John Julian, one of Cornwall's best known and earliest removal firms. This was certainly a good Good Friday! Hope you enjoy the video :)
