Last year, inflation increased by 30 percent in Moldova, more than elsewhere in Europe. The war was looming next door. The dependence on - supposedly cheaper - Russian gas was ended for the first time in the country’s history. Everyone was worried and fearful of what would happen. How would people survive? We went to the countryside and asked the people how they used their grandparents’ wisdom to manage.
