(Re)imagining Third Places: Co-creating Supportive Settings with Young People at the Margins

Third places—community settings like libraries, parks, and community centers—are vital settings for social support and resources. This is especially true for young people at the margins of society, who have often been excluded or failed by first places (home) and second places (school/work). In this talk, Dr. Danielle Maude Littman shared her research on using game-based inquiry to partner with young people with histories of housing instability in (re)imagining safe, affirming third places.
