With the structural change of US-China relationship as a “struggle for hegemony” become clearer than ever, Japan's PM Kishida’s top priority is to strengthen the alliance with the US in the context of the free and open Indo-Pacific on the one hand, and to maintain Tokyo’s relationship with Beijing within this framework and strategy on the other.
