Struncheon Lock Fish Pass River Hull

The sluice gate is the only barrier to fish migration on the River Hull. It directs the flow of water through the fish pass, a boat lock and a hydro turbine which is away from the river. It is downstream of Driffield West Beck chalk stream. The fish pass was built in 2019 and is about 3ft high. It is a pool and weir type fish pass with 3 stages and it is suitable for all species of fish. The River Hull has been straightened from its natural form and it is similar in appearance to a canal with lots of boats. There is also a lock here for the boats to get past the sluice gate.
