The taut and high shoulder line of the third generation Audi Q5 creates a powerful silhouette, connects the front and rear lights, and makes the vehicle appear longer. Above the sill, a rising line runs over the wheel arches and into the rear bumper, giving the vehicle a dynamic appearance even when stationary. Modern, sporty luxury. The new GLC embodies this in every detail. It is the most dynamic model in the successful SUV family from Mercedes-Benz. Even at first glance, this is underlined by its design with unique proportions, dramatic surfaces, precisely moulded edges and a clearly laid-out, high-quality interior. Compared to the Mercedes GLC, the new Audi Q5 is only 1mm longer but has a 50mm shorter wheelbase, the Audi Q5 is 10mm narrower but 15mm taller than the Mercedes GLC. The front of the Audi Q5 is self-confident, as all the defining design elements are positioned one level higher than in the predecessor model. The sporty, wide Singleframe sits high and is flanked by vertical, functional air curtains. The strongly filed and sculpturally shaped headlights create a sharp, focused look, manifesting the agile and self-confident character of the car right from the front. A large air intake with sensors sits under the Singleframe, giving the Q5 a visually full and wide stance on the road.The exterior S line impresses with striking and sporty body components, such as the Air Curtain Tubes with matt anthracite chrome-look accents. On the S model, these elements have a matt silver chrome look. The new GLC is immediately recognisable as a member of the Mercedes-Benz SUV family. Standard equipment includes the AVANTGARDE exterior with Chrome package including chrome window surrounds and a new, chrome-look simulated underguard. This adds striking design features and enhances the unique proportions of the vehicle. One of the defining design highlights of the GLC is the redesigned front end, with headlamps that connect directly to the radiator grille to emphasise the vehicle’s width, and the new radiator grille as part of the standard AVANTGARDE exterior, which now has a chrome surround and a sporty louvre in matt grey with chrome trim. The AMG Line has a radiator grille with Mercedes-Benz pattern. The rear of the Q5 SUV has an extremely clear design thanks to the maximum reduction of lines. From the rear window to the lower edge of the three-dimensional shaped light strip, there is a smooth surface, defined by the light strip with a sharp cut across the entire width of the vehicle. The area between the light strip and bumper is kept sleek and gives the SUV a sporty elegance. The diffuser is integrated into the raised bumpers as an island. The positioning and shape of the functional tailpipes depends on the engine: a double square tailpipe under the diffuser on the left-hand side (for all diesel engines), or rectangular tailpipes on the right and left (for all petrol engines). The S model features the four iconic twin round tailpipes in a new, sharpened design. The Mercedes GLC's body design is characterised by a full, spanned surface design enriched with precisely shaped edges in the sides. These emphasise the proportions, accentuate the muscular wheel arches and create a balance between elegance and off-road performance. The new two-section rear lights have an interior with a three-dimensional look and emphasise the width of the rear end. This too has a simulated chrome underguard, which encases the simulated chrome-look tailpipes. The new Audi Q5 SUV models are equipped with alloy wheels in sizes from 17 to 21 inches. The S line exterior and the S model come with 19-inch wheels as standard. Forged 21-inch wheels in S design, which are familiar from other S vehicles. The optional 21-inch tricolor wheel is the extravagant highlight of the wheel range. Features of the sporty, confident appearance of the Mercedes GLC are the wide track and flush wheels in 18- to 20-inch size.
