Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University (MSCB University), located at Sriram Chandra Vihar, Takatpur, Baripada, Mayurbhanj, Odisha – 757003, has officially released the PhD Admission Notification for the 2026–27 academic session through its Post Graduate Council. As per the latest official notice, eligible candidates are invited to apply online for admission into various PhD programmes offered by the university. The online application process starts on 29 December 2025 (10:00 AM) and the last date to apply is 15 January 2026 (11:55 PM). The PhD interview/viva-voce is scheduled on 19 January 2026, result declaration on 21 January 2026, admission on 29 January 2026, and classes will commence from 02 February 2026. Candidates with JRF, UGC/CSIR-NET, NET (PhD only), GATE, or other national-level fellowships are eligible as per UGC norms. Applicants must have secured at least 55% marks in their Master’s degree (with applicable relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD/EWS categories). Candidates applying after a 4-year bachelor’s degree under NEP-2020 must have 75% marks, with relaxation as per rules. Selection will be based on interview only or NET/GATE score (70%) + interview (30%), depending on the year and qualification. Reservation of seats will be followed as per Odisha State Government norms. The available PhD subjects and vacancies include: Anthropology & Tribal Studies (05), Biotechnology (08), Botany (03), Chemistry (19), Commerce (01), Economics (05), English (04), Life Sciences (02), Philosophy (02), Physics (10), WLBC (02), and Zoology (04). Applicants must apply online through the SAMARTH portal, upload scanned documents (photo, signature, certificates), pay the application fee, and submit the form online only—no offline applications are accepted. The PhD application fee is ₹500, payable online via RTGS/NEFT or other online modes as specified by the university. After final submission, candidates should download and keep a copy of the application form for future reference.
