xAPI allows you to track a lot more than typical SCORM. This really is one of the biggest differences of xAPI vs SCORM. It is pretty flexible with how detailed you can get with tracking the behavior of the learner, but that is only one part of the puzzle. Not only can you track using xAPI but you can pull data from the Learning Record Story (LRS) and adjust your course on the fly with the data you get back.
