4-Day Winter Getaway in the Black Forest

We felt it was time for one last trip before welcoming our second son, Milo. After considering several destinations, we chose the Black Forest—it wasn’t too far from home, and we simply loved the region. We didn’t expect everything that unfolded, but seeing snow-covered landscapes and experiencing four incredible days made it truly special. On Day 1, we explored Freiburg, a city we had often passed by but never stopped in—what a mistake! Freiburg turned out to be beautiful, vibrant, and full of charm. After a few hours of sightseeing, we headed to our accommodation. On Day 2, we started with a peaceful morning hike around Windgfällweiher, but the real adventure began in the afternoon with a stunning hike to Feldberg, the highest peak in the Black Forest. On Day 3, we took on the Titisee Loop, enjoying the winter scenery before celebrating Tina’s birthday—a perfect way to end the day. On Day 4, we headed home but made a final stop in Triberg, where we saw Germany’s tallest waterfall and visited the famous House of 1000 Clocks.
