Dawesome Kontrast: Overview, review, and tips 'n' tricks... Wavetables gone WILD?!

Is it a "hit" or a "myth"? The new "not a wavetable" synth from Dawesome, Dawesome Kontrast, is (maybe?) a game-changer in wavetable synthesis. Unless, of course, it is not. Come along with your favorite talky-talky synthesist to uncover the secrets of Kontrast by Dawesome and learn how we might leverage existing wavetables with this "new-kid-on-the-block". Grab your luminance map and get ready to trace your topological outlines in this wavetables-gone-wild episode of... whatever my show is called. ERRATA: In the section on physical modeling at about 0:30:20, I express some frustration about the lack of dedicated level controls on the wavetable oscillator itself. (And, as a result, it's difficult to craft a short percussive attack to excite the Modal filter.) However, it turns out that the dedicated "Gain" control on the Modal filter can, in fact, be used to envelope the incoming audio to the Modal filter. In my own testing, it seemed to me like Gain was also damping the Modal filter's output, but that's not the case. (Thanks to the astute viewer who pointed this out.)
