She explains that the events are not about the house, but making others suffer the way she suffered; there is no way to stop it. Aubrey (Amber Tamblyn from Joan of Arcadia and The Ring) learns that her sister Karen (Sarah Michelle Gellar from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and I Know What You Did Last Summer) is hospitalized in Japan. Shortly after arriving in Tokyo, Aubrey is warned that her sister has become a slave to something invisible and dangerous. Meanwhile, Allison (Arielle Kebbel from Gilmore Girls and The Vampire Diaries) is studying at an international school in Tokyo. Determined to ingratiate herself with the school's most popular students, she's ready to do anything, including visiting a mysterious burned-out house, the site of several unexplained murders and strange disappearances... Meanwhile in Chicago, Jake (Matthew Knight), an introverted and shy boy is not happy that his widowed father is starting a new life with Trish (Jennifer Beals from Flashdance and Devil in a Blue Dress). The gap is widening between him and his family, but also with all his neighbors who seem to behave more and more strangely...
