A proud tradition
The Australian War Memorial continues in its mission to commemorate the service and sacrifice of the men and women of the Australian Defence Force. This is in keeping with a proud tradition of recording the stories of war, which commenced with the Memorial's founding by First World War official historian, Charles EW Bean. A Proud Tradition is a short film describing the history, purpose and collection of the Australian War Memorial. This video received the Museums Australia MAPDA 2010 Award, highly commended in the Electronic & Multimedia Categories. The Memorial looks for donations of personal items and messages, memorabilia, uniform and kit, images and video, from recently returned and current members of the Australian Defence Force.
