This guitar has been restored! It has been cosmeticised (See Picture #2) to look good and to play well. WHY WOULD YOU BUY THIS GUITAR? Check out the video! It is perfect for punk, stoner rock, old-school metal, and garage rock. Also perfect for slide (that's how I play it) If you want to become a guitar god of sludgy dark sounds, this is the guitar. The sound from that vintage 60's pickup is amazing! Also: The truss rod works perfectly The intonation is pretty spot-on Action is around 2 mm on the 6th string (see Picture #8 ) The wear on this thing is authentic (See Photos) The frets have a fret job and there is no fret buzz The body received a guitar polish treatment and the fretboard a good lemon oil treatment Few heads-up, also: Some parts are not original The wear is quite heavy, but after 60 years of use, you might expect that The tone control is very subtle, with overdrive, it darkens the pickup just a bit and makes it sound sludgy, which is not bad if you are looking for that sound, but other than that, the tone control has not much influence on the sound. Hitting the strings too hard (especially the low E) will cause a buzz in the bridge - this can be fixed by buying a Mustang bridge or filing a deeper slot in the bridge The headstock has a few holes that were plucked in and 3 holes for the truss rod cover, which would not fit because of the string retainer (which is not original) - I will send the guitar with the original truss rod cover The previous owner tried to fit a TOM bridge and drilled the body, the holes were filled in and painted. It is not really noticeable as the bridge covers it mostly (see Picture #2). If this will be your first guitar, do not buy this! This is for someone who knows what they want and knows how these beasts work! What is original: -THE PICKUP -the Redburst finish -the Pickguard -the Neckplate -the Neck -the tone pot -the tone capacitor What was replaced (by me or the previous owner) -the bridge (copy of original) -the volume pot (very close to the original) -the tailpiece (I still have the original and can be sent ask for photos along with the guitar, but the action is too high with that tailpiece) -the knobs (??) - not sure about this one, bought it like that from the previous owner, might be original -the tuning machine (??) - not sure about this one, bought it like that from the previous owner, it might be the original -the string retainer Ask for more pictures.
