One of the most important ancient religious sites in the Isle of Man is almost forgotten today on the far side of Maughold Head. However, St. Maughold's Well was legendary for centuries, with pilgrims travelling from all over the British Isles and beyond in the hope of receiving miraculous cures from the Holy Water reputedly originating at the arrival of St. Maughold on the Isle of Man. Today the water continues to be collected by the parish church of Kirk Maughold and used for baptisms.
