Weijpoort is a former hamlet belonging to the municipality of Bodegraven-Reeuwijk in the Dutch province of South Holland. Weijpoort, now a district of Nieuwerbrug aan den Rijn, is situated between the hamlet of Molenbrug and the toll bridge of Nieuwerbrug, and on the south side of the Oude Rijn. Laageind is a hamlet and district in the municipality of Bodegraven-Reeuwijk, located near Driebruggen. With an area of 330 hectares, it is one of the larger neighborhoods in the Netherlands. The area is known as a rural neighborhood. Driebruggen is a village in the Dutch municipality of Bodegraven-Reeuwijk and is located in the province of South Holland. It borders the Reeuwijk Lakes and is intersected by the Dubbele Wiericke, a waterway connecting the Oude Rijn and the Hollandse IJssel. Hekendorp, formerly Goejanverwelle, is a village and former municipality in the Dutch municipality of Oudewater and is located in the province of Utrecht. It has 720 inhabitants (2023). The village lies on the northern bank of the Hollandse IJssel and was part of the municipality of Driebruggen in the province of South Holland until 1989. Before 1964, Hekendorp was an independent municipality, of which Oukoop and Goejanverwelle were part. The name also lives on in the arrest at Goejanverwellesluis of Princess Wilhelmina of Prussia (1751-1820), the wife of Stadtholder William V, on June 28, 1787. Oudewater is a city and municipality in the Dutch province of Utrecht. The town obtained city rights in 1265 and can therefore be considered the oldest city in the Groene Hart. Oudewater is situated at the mouth of the small river Lange Linschoten into the Hollandse IJssel. Oudewater has over 300 historic buildings, 97 municipal monuments, and 127 national monuments, giving it the highest monument density in the Netherlands. The city is known for the 'Heksenwaag' (Witches' Weighing House) from 1545, grew wealthy through the rope industry—which also earned the inhabitants the nickname 'Geelbuiken' (Yellowbellies)—and was one of the twelve cities that attended the First Assembly of the Free States in 1572. Lange Linschoten is a hamlet belonging to the municipality of Oudewater in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is situated on the river Lange Linschoten between Oudewater and Linschoten. Within Lange Linschoten, North Linschoten and South Linschoten were distinguished. The high lordships of Lange Linschoten and Snelrewaard belonged to the province of Holland. Both lordships had the same owner, who also owned the lordship of Hekendorp. On January 1, 1812, Lange Linschoten and Snelrewaard were merged into the Utrecht municipality of Linschoten. Because the old provincial boundaries were subsequently restored, the strange situation existed from September 19, 1814, to April 1, 1817, where the municipality of Linschoten lay in two provinces. On January 1, 1818, Snelrewaard and Lange Linschoten merged to form the new municipality of Snelrewaard. As of January 1, 1989, Lange Linschoten, along with the greater part of Snelrewaard, was merged with Oudewater.
