New leadership, fresh musical talent, financial empowerment and long-term planning are the forces shaping the new orchestra. The task of breathing new life into the troubled orchestra is the responsibility of Chen Zuohuang, the mastermind and management muscle behind the reorganisation. As the new orchestra's principle conductor and music director Chen, with a mandate from the Ministry of Culture, has instituted a series of dynamic changes by which he aims to transform the orchestra into a world class symphony.
