Conference Talk: Cheering Each Other On - J Anette Dennis Printed Talk: https://tinyurl.com/vmyhzr6w Look for the promises. Questions to ponder: What are the hidden “burdens” or personal struggles that others around you might be carrying that you cannot see? How might recognizing that you don’t know the whole story change how you respond to someone who seems to be struggling? How does the example of cheering a slower runner help you reconsider how you view your own spiritual journey? What encouragement does the Savior offer you when you feel you’re “running behind” in life? What practical ways can you help build a stronger sense of belonging in your home or congregation? How can you make others feel welcome and needed — even if they feel different or distant from the group? How does charity (the pure love of Christ) shape your speech and actions toward those who struggle or feel judged? What deliberate changes might you make to ensure your words encourage rather than condemn? Scripture: Romans 8 Word: Cheer HEBREW: samach to brighten up, to make joyful, to cause to rejoice Phrase: Only the Lord fully knows the actual level of difficulty with which each of us is running our race of life -- the burdens, the challenges, and the obstacles we face that often cannot be seen by others. Affirmation: I am an encourager who reflects Christ's love. I choose to cheer others on, set aside judgment, and love one another with charity as the Savior commands, building unity and belonging in my home and community.
