This is my first working prototype of a custom-built DIY active pedal, with a small twist. I’ve integrated a belt-driven mechanism, which makes the pedal more compact while still delivering real feedback. The goal was simple: to build an active pedal with low-cost, space-saving, and accurate response time that can be used in sim racing. It responds quickly, reacts realistically, and turns every session into a more immersive experience. This is not a final product — it’s an ongoing concept that I’m developing and testing. I’d love to hear what you think! 🧰 Materials Electronics: 🧠 1x ESP32 VRoom 📊 1x Load Cell 300Kg + HX711 Amplifier (for force feedback sensing) 🎚️ 1x TTL 4 Channels (Logic Level Converter Bi-Directional Module 5V to 3.3V) 🎚️ 1x ADS1256 🔧 1x Motor iSV57T-130S (for active resistance) 🔋 1x Power Supply (36V) 🔌 1x Diodo 🔌 1x Capacitor 80V 1000uf 🔌 Wires, Connectors, and PCB/Perfboard for signal routing Mechanical: ⚙️ Metal/Aluminum Frame (for mounting pedal components) Ball screw slide rail 70mm Effective Stroke ⚙️ 2x Polia 20 Teeth Bore: 8mm Belt Width: 10mm ⚙️ 1x Timing Belt 300mm 🦶 1x Pedal Arm with Spring Mechanism (custom or modified racing pedal) 🧷 Bearings, Bushings, and Shafts for articulation 🔩 Bolts, Nuts, Washers (assorted sizes): Bolts 2x - M3×12mm 6x - M4×8mm 2x - M4×10mm 10x - M4×12mm 6x - M4×20mm 2x - M4×24mm 1x - M6×30mm 1x - M6×34mm 1x - M8×34mm 1x - M8×50mm 2x - M12×36mm Nuts 2x - M3 14x - M4 2x - M6 3x - M8 Washers 2x - M4 2x - M6 7x - M8 Threaded Inserts 6x - M4×6mm 🛠️ 3D printed ( https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/... ) 🔧 Credits Special thanks to https://github.com/ChrGri/DIY-Sim-Rac... project.
