BJP MLA MP Kumaraswamy from Mudigere Assembly constituency in Chikkamagaluru district resigned from his position and from the primary membership of the party hours after learning that he would not receive a ticket for the 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections. Party employee Deepak Doddaiah was handed a ticket by the BJP in its second list of candidates.
