The lake lies between rocks of the castle ruins Oheb and the castle Vichtejn (often called “Vildstejn). Ruins of Oheb Castle are firstly mentioned around 1315 and by 1553 uninhabited. The structures still exist and you have a nice view overlooking the lake and the small island. On its shore the largest recreation area where you find Autokemp Sec. During summer as much as 50 000 holidaymakers rotate here. The nearby town Sec is the starting point of Vlastivedna trail through the Iron mountains (Zelezne hory) region, which goes from Sec to Ronov nad Doubravou.
