Eddy Turns and Crosses in a Canoe

A series of moves in a tight chute. Eddy turns and crosses. Meanwhile my dog Billie takes it all in his stride. The first eddy is extremely narrow and there is fast water on the other side. The canoe has to have enough speed to enter the eddy but then that speed has to be killed to stop the canoe exiting immediately on the far side. The crosses to and back from the next eddy depend on a small amount of speed, position and angle. First cross is on the main wave whilst the cross back is on a smaller second wave to give a better entry into the middle eddy. The turn back downstream need to keep the stern in the middle eddy hence the bow in the current to turn but the stern being kept in the eddy.
