Brigadier General Edgar Luis Villegas says Saul Solis Solis, alias "El Lince", was captured on Monday in the western state of Michoacan. On Tuesday, the army put the handcuffed Solis on display to the media along with a number of other unnamed detainees they recently captured as part of their war on drugs. Knights Templar was born from a split in La Familia, a pseudo-religious drug gang known as a major trafficker of methamphetamine. Villegas said on Tuesday that Solis is considered one of the principal lieutenants of Knights Templar and is involved in various attacks on soldiers and federal police. Mexico''s attorney general had offered a 1.1 (m) million US dollar reward for information leading to his capture. Solis is the cousin of one of the gang''s main leaders, Enrique Plancarte Solis.
