Top 5 Flowering Redbud Trees I’m not sure what’s happening where you guys live, but here in Nebraska, the Redbuds are blooming! It’s got me all kinds of excited and I wanted to share some of our favorite Redbud varieties with you. The Rising Sun™ gets to top our list for a number of reasons which include (but are not limited to) the lavender-pink flowers, heart-shaped leaves that emerge orange, gold, and yellow all at once and mature to lime green, and its perfect size. It tops out at about 10-12 feet tall and 8-10 feet wide. It was practically made for the suburban garden and is in fact pretty reminiscent of a rising sun.
