The 200 year old Rigata Festival of the Yauri people is a unique cultural extravaganza. Yauri is an ancient kingdom with rich cultural heritage located in Kebbi state, northwestern Nigeria. Yauri is considered as one of the most important states of the Hausa-speaking people and the chief trade center in northwestern Nigeria. The Yauri Emirate is a small but powerful Kingdom in South of the Sahara. It borders Nupe to the South and Kebbi Kingdom to the North. The people of Yauri are peaceful and very hospitable.
