Due to the Youtube compression, here is the 8K ProRes LT version to download https://drive.google.com/file/d/10ICt... Canon EOS R5 12Bit 8K Cinematic Canon EOS R5 is a very exciting camera. It is not just an upgrade from the original EOS R. It has so much more. Such as, 8K RAW, 4K upto 120p. From what I first saw the rumour specs. I couldn’t believe it. But it is true. I’m glad Canon is back to the game. So I will be doing a few more videos with the R5. Such as 4K 120p, or maybe lowlight video test. Let me know what else you want me to test out about the camera. Okay, 8K is a new thing for me. And the workflow was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Firstly, the memory. Yes, the EOS R5 shoots 8K RAW with 2600Mbps. In this little short 3min video. I shot about 512GB of footage. The CFExpress card right now is not cheap too. If you think you will be using this camera just for 8K, then you might need to spend heaps of money on cards. Secondly, the post processing isn’t that easy as the C200. Because the 8K has such a huge file size. I crashed my 2018 iMac Pro so many times. So I think I won’t be using 8K RAW that often. But it is nice Canon include that in the camera. But other than that, the 8K image is stunning. I think I have never seen an image that sharp and detail. So a lot of people maybe wondering about the heat issue with the 8K RAW recording. Right now, Australia is in winter. So after a full day of 8K shooting. The camera didn’t have any overheating issue at all. Not even a heat icon pop up. I guess I will wait until summer and find that out again. Note: I have tested out few modes, and I found a 95mb/s SanDisk SD card was able to record 8K 24p/25p IPB format. It is also working with 4K 50p/60p in IPB format too. Meaning for long day wedding. SD card will be fine. Don’t really have to get the expensive CFExpress card.
