Make sure you are logged in as an admin user so you have access to adding and editing users. From the Users section of your account, you will see a list of all account users, including their permissions. Click Add New User at the top. Choose a Username. Usernames must be unique across all ExaVault accounts. We recommend using an email address if you have problems finding a unique name. Select a nickname. The nickname helps you identify the user within the account. Enter a password for the user. Confirm password. Enter their email address. Check Lock User if you do NOT want the user enabled at this time. Onboarding is enabled and will help guide a new user through the interface when they first log in. Check Send Welcome Email to have the new user receive our welcome emails. Users are not set to expire, but you have the option to add an expiration date. Now let’s look at permissions. Go to the Permissions tab. You can create a normal user or an admin. Let’s create a user and set permissions. First, select the user’s home folder. Do they have access to all files and folders? Should they be restricted to a sub-folder? If they are working on Project-One you can select that as their home folder. Click OK. You can allow, or not allow, each user to have the following permissions: Upload files and folders Download files and folders Delete files and folder Modify - create folders, rename, move and copy See files and folders Create notifications Share and send files Change their own password As well as restrict a user to only log in to a specific sub-folder All permissions are set to allow. Select the toggle in front of any permissions you do not want to allow this user to have. Select Save Changes. A notification will pop up at the top saying user has been created. The new user can now log in and will appear in the Users section of the account. The user permissions you select when creating a user will apply whether they connect through a web browser or using an FTP client.
