PedalScapes Episode 6 Welcome to the Sixth episode of PedalScapes. So this PedalScapes took a while to put together, there were a few re-thinks along the way, here's why: The KMA Cirrus is a serious ambient tone creation device and for me comes with a bit of a learning curve, the biggest one on this project being that; just because it has everything, including the kitchen sink, doesn't mean you have to use it! So the first few takes had full decay on the reverb, which goes on for days... and while it sounds great on it's own, this much reverb can cause a bit of a mud-fest when trying to balance other tracks in the mix... So this caused a bit of a re-think and led me towards trying to use just what was needed from Cirrus for the project... I'm sure this device is going to feature much more in the future as it's awesome... and there will possibly be a future episode dedicated solely to it. In addition to the above, the bass just wasn't working no matter how I approached it. Then the universe provided in the form of the magnificent Thorpy FX Camoflange... No sooner did the parcel arrive than it was un-boxed plugged in and Voila!... the bass happened in a single take... The Camoflange is killer on the bass! Obviously it sweetens up the the twang on the tele nicely as evidenced on Guitar R... So once Camoflange had landed and Cirrus was tamed, the pieces all fell into place which leads us here...
