UPDATE: As of March 29 2021, with the release of version 1.4.0.0, this tutorial for binding demo buttons is no longer relevant! You can now bind a "crouch dash" button, AKA demo dash, in the options menu, for any control scheme. Since this question comes up a lot and I was in the mood to make a video, I decided to make this: The Ultimate Demo Dash and Demo Button Tutorial. The term "demo dash" is named after the Chinese Celeste player Demo Jameson, who is a speedrunner and also the creator of the Speedrun Tool, a useful mod that implements save states and other practice tools. I tried to compile as much information as possible into one concise source and have it be as accurate as possible. Of course, I might have forgotten something or made a mistake somewhere, so please let me know if there's anything I missed and I'll put errata here or in a pinned comment.
