Convertible advantage: As much as I love my C7 Stingray coupe, I do get caught in a sprinkle which makes me have to pull over to put the top back on whereas if I had a convertible, I can close the roof while I'm still driving under 30mph. On surface street, pulling over into the next parking lot is no problem but it is a problem when I'm on the fwy (in traffic when speed is under 30mph). Another disadvantages of a convertible that I forgot to mention in the video are: 1. there is more blind spot when the convertible top is up. On the flip side, when the convertible top is down, there is way better visibility. 2. a convertible is heavier which means 0-60mph time will be slightly slower and handling will be slighly lower, and maybe lower mileage because of the extra weight ( but you're driving a Corvette so mileage is not as big a factor as if you were buying a Toyota Camry). 3. Does anyone know if insurance costs more for a convertible? You cannot take a convertible to the track. A coupe with the targa top protects the occupants better in the event of a rollover because there is a rollbar behind you. A coupe has a bigger trunk of 15 cubic foot versus a convertible's 10 cubic foot. -------------------------------- Base 2017 Corvette stingray 1LT manual transmission with NPP performance exhaust, black wheels, red calipers, red seats, carbon badge package.
