Dogal makes both of these sets in Venice, Italy. The purpose of this video/audio is to help anyone who has not yet tried any of these wonderful Dogal strings to see how they compare and what are the differences between them. More of the differences will be stated at the end of this description. Guitar: Vassilis Lazarides flamenco blanca 0:00 Recuerdos de la Alhambra (F. Tárrega) 3:01 Lagrima (F. Tárrega) 4:21 Adelita (F. Bach What cannot be heard on the video: Dogal Maestrale has a material that is not used in the treble strings by other companies and the colour of this nylon is blue. It is a bit stiffer than normal nylon and feels a bit harder, so the low tension here has the same feel of tension as the medium tension of the Diamante. Diamante on the other hand has a very soft feel and quite familiar to other nylon strings feeling. For me it is much easier to have a round sound with the Diamante but the Maestrale have a very strong 3rd string which is something many classical guitarists look for. In this case Dogal gives the option of having the sweet, round Diamante for the 1st string and the brighter, more projecting Maestrale for the 2nd and 3rd strings, as they include a Diamante 1st in their Maestrale set for classical guitar. If you need more volume and clarity for your guitar then the Maestrale might be more suitable for you. If roundness and sweet sound is what you are looking for, then probably the Diamante is more suitable in this case. The price of the Maestrale is higher than the Diamante.
