Released in 2017 and 2018 for Android and iOS respectively, N.O.V.A. Legacy was to be a triumphant return to the series that lay dormant for 5 years (with N.O.V.A. 3 releasing in 2012). The game was primarily multiplayer focused, packaged alongside a ground-up remake of the original N.O.V.A. campaign, with new gameplay and visuals to accompany it. Unfortunately, as is the case with newer Gameloft titles, the game is Free-to-play, focusing on micro-transactions to make a profit. This meant a heavy reliance on in-game currencies to allow you to play the game; locking story missions behind "Energy points", locking weapon and armor upgrades behind randomized Loot Boxes and making you watch ads or spend currency to revive yourself if you die. Alongside this, the game is much shorter than the original N.O.V.A. campaign, with some missions only lasting a minute or so. There is also no voice-acting to be found in the game, something that was vital to the charm and personality of the previous titles. All of this combined is sadly just a reminder of the company Gameloft once was compared to who they have now become... ------------------------------ Intro - 0:00:00 Rude Awakening - 0:00:50 A New Order - 0:02:55 Walk in the Park - 0:05:11 A Spark in the Void - 0:07:24 Under Repair - 0:10:39 Fuel Shortage - 0:13:25 Out with a Bang - 0:17:04 Welcome to the Jungle - 0:22:01 Fallen Pieces - 0:25:17 Temple Trials - 0:28:14 Race to the Base - 0:33:27 Hunker in the Bunker - 0:36:05 On the Rise - 0:38:13 Got a Light? - 0:39:32 Silo Mentality - 0:44:32 Tourist Trap - 0:48:13 Information Overload - 0:51:37 Truth Revealed - 0:56:54 Judgement Call - 1:01:44 Credits - 1:06:05 ------------------------------ This one was quite the disappointment unfortunately. I spent more time in menus and with pop ups than I did actually playing the game, thanks to its extremely short levels and constant need for me to buy things to progress. The gameplay itself was fine - I enjoyed the auto-fire feature - but it really just felt lifeless and pointless compared to the other games in the series. It really is a shame that this is how they decided to bring the franchise back as it definitely is the worst in the series ☹️ @Gameloft @gameloftandroid
