Updates: All info accurate as of the taping of this video, 2/10/19. Some things have happened since this video. As of 2/15/19, It appears that the first round of Belle Tress Winter 2019 stuff has been shipping, though they are expected to sell out quickly, which will result in a backorder. The English Toffee was not in this shipment, so that color is still not available to ship in any product. Also, we've received a few comments about our stock notifications on the site that show me that those folks didn't watch the video all the way through before down-voting and leaving a comment. Before you do that, please watch from here, where I discuss the limitations of that system in detail:    • CysterWigs AMA #8: Early 2019 Backorder Fo...   :) Here's what else is in this video: Estetica, BelleTress, and many other companies are already advertising their Spring and "Late Winter" collections...with NOTHING available to ship and no firm ETAs for delivery. This is already shaping up to be another crazy year for wig backorders. In response, we are adopting a strategy that will help you discover legacy pieces that are similar to newly released styles so you can avoid the hype and skip the long wait lists. In full disclosure: We'll still show you the new stuff, but we won't rush to do it. We want to avoid contributing to the social media hype that leads to these backorders in the first place so you can buy hair and have it shipped in a timely fashion. We didn't open the store to sell people wig IOUs! Exceptions: We WILL take backorders and preorders on newly released items up to 2 months from the release date. We will maintain those, per usual. After that, it is up to our discretion whether or not we want to take on additional backorders. We will keep an eye on how quickly those backorders seem to be fulfilled by the supplier and then we will use that info to determine whether or not it's a reasonable thing to subject customers to that kind of wait. Example: Our CysterWigs custom items. These are unique enough that we don't feel guilty maintaining a wait list. We update the people waiting on these frequently. We have control over the timeline of the backorders because we are not competing with other online stores on these items (because they're ours). Another example: Brooklyn by Estetica was released almost a year ago and is sold out in basically every color. There are other styles that look almost the same that are available to ship today without the wait. If we can steer you towards an alternative you don't have to wait for, then that's what we'll do instead of taking on more backorders for this item. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions. We're always happy to send you inventory on any item you're interested in. BTW: Asking for inventory and possible alternatives is MUCH better for you strategically than just asking when a specific something will be back in stock. We often are not told when the suppliers receive new stock because, as I mention in this video, they do not disclose to us, or to the general public, how many items on any particular new shipment are already spoken for via extensive, ongoing backorders. Additionally, the ETAs provided by the suppliers are notoriously prone to moving around without notice. It's a source of frustration for me and my staff too -- and something we want to help you avoid if at all possible. If you want a look and are not married to a specific brand, we can often help you get around the wait if you ask for alternative suggestions. We love you guys!
