With the first coming of the God-man, the eschatology of the Prophets dawned in its initial fulfillment. The eschatological salvation-presence of God became manifest on earth in the Person of the incarnate Son. This initial in-breaking of God’s salvation-presence was partial insofar as it was not yet in consummate expression, but nonetheless it was a genuine in-breaking that’s organically connected with the in-breaking that will occur at the end of the age.
