#patchwork #TextileCrafts #FabricSnake Create a unique patchwork textile snake with this easy step-by-step tutorial! 🐍 Perfect as a charming gift or fun DIY project. Learn how to sew using fabric scraps and simple techniques. Add a touch of creativity to your handmade toy collection! 💡 Materials: Fabric: 7 cotton pieces (20x16 cm), 2 pieces for the head (16x16 cm), 2 pieces for the mouth (15x12 cm), and an interfacing piece of the same size (15x12 cm). Eyes: Buttons or other decorative options. Stuffing: For filling the toy. Felt or red fabric: For the tongue. Instructions: 1. Cut the headpieces: Cut out two headpieces using the pattern. Sew the top piece along the center and press the seam flat. 2. Prepare the mouth: Cut out two mouthpieces from cotton and interfacing. Insert the tongue between them, pin the layers' right sides, and sew around the edges. 3. Assemble the head: Place the upper and lower head pieces right sides together. Sew along the sides. If you want to make attaching the head to the body easier later, sew only one side and leave the other to finish by hand. 4. Attach the mouth to the head: Insert the finished mouth into the head, aligning all layers with the right sides facing each other. Pin everything together securely. Sew around, trim the excess fabric, turn the head right side out, and press with an iron. 5. Make the body: Sew the 7 fabric pieces along their 20 cm edges to create one long strip. Press the seams open. Fold the strip in half lengthwise, draw a rounded tail shape at one end, and sew along the edge, leaving 10 cm open at the other end. 6. Stuff the body: Fill the body with stuffing. Use a long tool, like a stick or bat, to push the stuffing evenly through the body. 7. Attach the head to the body: This is the trickiest step. Pin the head and body together, aligning the edges. Hand-sew the pieces together using a backstitch for strength. 8. Final touches: Fill the remaining opening with stuffing and close it with an invisible stitch. Congratulations—your snake toy is complete! You've done a great job!
