Chanting this Shiva Stotra removes obstacles, grants protection during travel, and fills the devotee’s heart with peace and devotion. ✨ Full Sanskrit Text with English Translation Below: ॥ श्रीमार्गबन्धु स्तोत्रम् ॥ शंभो महादेव देव शिव शंभो महादेव देवेश शंभो । शंभो महादेव देव ॥ O Lord Shambhu, Mahadeva, Supreme God of Gods, embodiment of peace and bliss — salutations to You again and again. फालावनम्रकिरीटं फालनेत्रार्चिषा दग्ध पञ्चेषुकीटम् । शूलाहतारातिकूटं शुद्धमर्धेन्दुचूडं भजे मार्गबन्धुम् ॥ १॥ I bow to Shiva, the Friend of the Path, who wears a crescent moon on His head, who burned the god of desire with His third eye, who destroys the enemies of devotees with His trident, and whose crown shines with divine brilliance. अङ्गे विराजद्भुजङ्गं अभ्रगङ्गातरङ्गाभिरामोत्तमाङ्गम् । ओंकारवाटीकुरङ्गसिद्धसंसेवितं भजे मार्गबन्धुम् ॥ २॥ I adore Shiva whose body is adorned by serpents, whose head glows with the waves of the celestial Ganga, who plays in the forest of Omkara, and who is worshipped by the greatest sages and Siddhas. नित्यं चिदानन्दरूपं निह्नताशेषलोकेशवैरिप्रतापम् । कार्तस्वरागेन्द्रचापं कृत्तिवासं भजे दिव्यसन्मार्गबन्धुम् ॥ ३॥ I meditate upon Shiva, eternal consciousness and bliss personified, who destroyed the pride of all enemies of the gods, who used Mount Meru as His bow, and who wears divine garments of animal hides — the true guide on the righteous path. कन्दर्पदर्पघ्नमीशं कालकण्ठं महेशं महाव्योमकेशम् । कुन्दाभदन्तं सुरेशं कोटिसूर्यप्रकाशं भजे मार्गबन्धुम् ॥ ४॥ I worship the Great Lord who crushed the vanity of Kamadeva (the god of love), who has a blue throat, whose matted hair is the vast sky, whose teeth shine like jasmine, and whose brilliance surpasses millions of suns. मन्दारभूतेरुदारं मन्दरागेन्द्रसारं महाघौर्यदूरम् । सिन्धूरदूरप्रचारं सिन्धुराजातिधीरं भजे मार्गबन्धुम् ॥ ५॥ I bow to Shiva, who is more generous than the celestial tree Mandara, more steadfast than Mount Mandara, whose splendor exceeds all red hues, who is the consort of Gauri, and whose courage is supreme like the ocean king. अप्पय्ययज्वेन्द्रगीतं स्तोत्रराजं पठेद्यस्तु भक्त्या प्रयाणे । तस्यार्थसिद्धिं विधत्ते मार्गमध्येऽभयं चाशुतोषी महेशः ॥ ६॥ Whoever recites this sacred Stotra composed by Appayya Dikshita with devotion before traveling — Lord Shiva, the most easily pleased, grants success in all endeavors and protection throughout the journey. 🌺 Chant this daily before travel, during sadhana, or while seeking guidance in life.
