Kayak Camping: Brasher Park to Durney Key

I actually anchored my Windrider 17 near Durney Key last year in the dark and didn't even know it was there, it's that small of an island. If you're not familiar, Durney Key is located just about a mile west of Brasher Park in Port Ritchie Florida on the Gulf Coast (Not too far north of Tampa/Saint Petersburg area). Don't let it's small size fool you though, it's a very nice Key and the mangroves all along the coastal shores of the mainland are just about a mile away and have great spots to kayak through and to enjoy. I wasn't expecting to have such a good time on this trip, but it's a good one to take other people on that want an adventure without too much craziness, in fact, if it's a calm day like it was for my trip, it was down right easy :). I highly recommend this trip as a quick day trip or as an overnighter with equal ease. (No amenities provided, but brasher park is just about a mile away and has toilets).
