I wrote this song as a tribute to the remarkable resilience of a close friend that I admire greatly. Someone whose faced down more than his fair share of difficult life challenges and came back, bigger, better and stronger each time. This kind of resilience can only come from a level of tenacity and determination very few people possess. And can only be attained from an inner strength gained by growing up in a world that didn't offer "safe spaces" or "participation trophies".
