For 8 days in late August 2018, Jon Paine, Uli Schmill & I explored Auyuittuq National Park - a true natural & national wonder! I hope this film is able to convey, in even a small way, how incredibly beautiful this place is and why I can hardly wait to get back to this part of the Canadian north. If you'd like to see a 2 min version of this film showcasing just the nature-based time lapses, please check it out here: https://vimeo.com/299946834 I plan/hope (don't want to jinx myself) to be back in this area in 2019. If you're interested in maybe joining me on a late August to early September tour, please message me with your info. The bottom line is that the Canadian north speaks to me in a way that no other place has. I am extremely grateful to have been able to share this experience with my good friend Jon Paine (and frequent adventure partner) and my stepson Uli Schmill. It was the best of times ... This long dreamed-of trip into Auyuittuq National Park was inspired by the imagery, stories and/or conversations with many but in particular with Ray Zahab (rayzahab.com) & Jen Segger (jensegger.com). Check out their incredible (and cold) adventure (with Stefano Gregoretti) of crossing Baffin Island by bike in February 2016 at http://impossible2possible.com/arctic... As well, Ray has crossed the Akshayuk Pass a number of other times and in September completed it in just 25.5 hrs! For another incredible winter adventure on Baffin Island check out https://blog.arcteryx.com/the-land-th... We ran into Steve Evans during our time in the park: • 8 Days Alone on BAFFIN ISLAND: An Arctic C... Camera Gear: The photos, videos and time lapses were shot with the Nikon D850 (using the 20mm f/1.8 & 70-200 mm f/4) and a GoPro 6.
