The phenomenon of causality, that of the inevitable connection between cause and effect, appears quite real. Every single aspect of our life depends on causality working every time. We vehemently believe the laws of physics to be correct, and we structure our worldview around them. However, what if causality isn’t an objective fact about this world on which we can base our knowledge? In this video, we will first look into David Hume’s skepticism regarding causality, before we can move on to how Kant answered it in his greatest work, “The Critique of Pure Reason”.
