This year sees the 100th anniversary of the first time that ANZAC Day was commemorated on April 25th 1916. This is our tribute to the brave Australians that proudly served their country in many wars and conflicts in order that we can be free. Lest we forget. ANZAC DAY We Will Remember Them Since 1900 over 1.5 million Australians have served in 8 major wars or conflicts. Over 100,000 have lost their lives, 200,000 more were wounded and 30,000 were taken prisoner. Thanks to their sacrifice we are able to enjoy a life of freedom today. On April 25th 1916 ANZAC Day was commemorated for the first time. Born from the ashes of the Gallipoli campaign came a force that would define a nation. On this day we celebrate the ANZAC spirit of courage, endurance, mateship and sacrifice. “They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning... We will remember them." Australia, as a nation, is honoured by their service. Thanks to them we are ‘The Lucky Country’. On ANZAC Day be proud, be grateful, be joyfull and happy, to be AUSTRALIAN. Remember the past and be thankful for those that continue to protect us. And give thanks to the next generation that will make their nation proud.
