This is a target-like device that measures and quantifies, a refractive and cataract patient's, preoperative and post-operative glare. The measurement is of the patients' actual scope and range of glare and Halo. This aids in counseling about glare levels in LASIK and Array implant candidates. For patients who complain about their glare following refractive surgery, they can be shown that the amount of glare they had pre-operatively was charted and recorded. A quantitative comparison can now be easily demonstrated between pre and post procedure. Patients then can be assisted in accepting the "new" glare, which is usually unchanged from their pre-operative state. The test is preformed in a darkened room by shining an extremely bright diode light directly into their eyes. The target card, measures 11" by 11", with an attached bright blue/white light at the center, on which three concentric circles are imprinted. Accuracy is based on levels, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, which translate to minimum, moderate or extensive glare.
