Solo Hiking and Wild-Camping the SKYE Trail in JUNE | Day 2: The Trotternish Ridge 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

In June 2022, I hiked and wild camped the entire length of the Isle of Skye Trail. I travelled from north to south and the route took me 6 days, covering approximately 137km, or 85 miles in total. For more information on this hike, please see my Skye Trail blog at https://jonnyboywander.com/skye-trail/ I woke up early on day 2 after spending the night wild camping right in The Quiraing. I was greeted by another glorious day and had a slow morning enjoying the views and having breakfast before heading off to tackle The Trotternish Ridge. I knew this would be the hardest day on the trail and I wasn't disappointed. The whole day was a series of up and down that seemed to go on forever, however the beautiful weather kept pushing me on. I decided to stop just in the valley just before Hartaval, and spent quite a while hunting for a good spot to camp before settling down. Later that evening it started to rain for the first and last time on the trail, and I just about managed to finish up with getting everything set up and cooking dinner, before jumping straight into bed.
