Is Korean pronunciation difficult for you? Many people rely on romanization — expressing Korean pronunciation in English — but this doesn’t help your Korean learning at all. Korean is different from Chinese and Japanese because it has its own alphabet, just like English. Unlike English, Korean pronunciation rarely changes, and the spelling often matches the exact way it sounds. Even the final consonants, which you might think are tricky, are easier to pronounce than you’d expect. What’s in brackets reflects how native Korean speakers pronounce the words. Listen twice at a slower speed, practice once yourself, and then listen at the normal speed. You’ll start noticing your Korean improving over time. In this file, words are color-coded: verbs are in red, nouns/pronouns in blue, adverbs in light blue, and prepositions/particles in orange. By following the colors, you’ll better understand Korean grammar structure. It can help you speak Korean and prepare TOPIK test as well.
