Convos With Caregivers: Katherine Sylvester – Building Your Dream Team of Care Providers

We're so excited to start the year with a Criado OG - Katherine Sylvester PT, DPT. for a conversation with Criado co-founder Tosi Adeniyi-Miller. This Convos With Caregivers explores tips and tricks on building your Dream Team of care providers and the path to rediscovering trust within your self in your approach to self-advocation. Katherine is Criado's Pre & Post Conception Health Educator on our team of Community Health Education Leaders. She is a women’s health advocate, physical therapist, assistant clinical professor, preeclampsia survivor, and VBAC-certified doula dedicated to empowering women with the knowledge and tools to take control of their health. She and her team at Operation M.I.S.T. teach women how to use smart devices to monitor vital signs, ensuring safer pregnancies, smoother cycles, and better long-term health outcomes. To date, educating women in this way combined with remote vital sign monitoring has resulted in women having healthier pregnancies, avoiding unnecessary miscarriages, premature and cesarean deliveries, and catching issues like infection, fluid overload and low vitamin levels between office visits. Katherine and her team also conduct "More than a Period Parties", where ladies of all ages come together to learn everything they deserve to know about their bodies so they can trust, prepare, and protect them throughout all phases of womanhood. Everything taught at these parties is taught with the goal in mind of helping women avoid heart disease, maternal death and urinary/fecal matter leakage. You would never know the topics were so heavy as women explore cervical fluids with the enthusiasm of scientists, ask questions to confirm facts or debunk myths with the intensity of attorneys, and laugh with strangers as if they've known each other for a lifetime. By the end of each party, women leave discussing the wonders of the female body with the confidence and competence they deserve to have.
