A filter foam/sponge was cut out to create a protective housing for a submersible pump. Red lava rocks were used to create a water table which will store the water that will be circulated by the pump. The created a barrier between the water table and top substrate layer using filter floss which was later over layered with geo-textile fabric. A hardscape was created using Frodo stomes and the outlet tube from the pump was positioned between the stones for the waterfall. the stones were all joined together using the filter floss and superglue method. I used only spahgnum moss as substrate to keep things simple and non-messy. The hero plant for this scape is a Snowbush. The root ball of the plant was covered with moss and placed in position behind the stones. Other plants included Rockweed, Baby Tears and Clearweed. Sheet moss was used to cover the sphagnum substrate. Aquatic Christmas moss was tucked in between the stones to give a natural look.
