Throughout our 40-year history in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, the CTA has welcomed over 15,000 students of all ages and abilities. Thanks to the continued generosity of our families, donors and sponsors during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been able to reimagine, remain open, and reinvest in our future. This special event marks the celebration and appreciation of the past 40 years, and of what’s to come in the CTA’s future. Thanks to the generosity and support of the Michael J. Kara Family, a cast of 30 CTA students will perform musical numbers from the past 40 years live on stage at Pittsburgh’s iconic Heinz Hall venue. We will share the story of our history and will let you know that YOUR voice has been heard: the Center for Theater Arts will remain in your community for years to come! You can donate to the CTA here: https://centerfortheaterarts.org/get-... Center for Theatre Arts is hosting the first live cultural district performance since the start of the pandemic. This free event will feature a cast of 30 students performing solos, duets, and group numbers from Broadway musicals including Godspell, Pippin, Mama Mia & more. The Center for Theater Arts was founded in 1981 to offer professional performing arts classes to children and teens throughout the Pittsburgh area. The Center teachers have instructed over 1,000's of students in acting, musical theater, ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, voice as well as musical theater for students with special needs. In addition there are classes in rehearsal & production, comedy improv, audition technique, sketch comedy and performance opportunities for singers, dancers, and actors. Center classes strive to challenge students while inspiring creative expression, boosting positive self-esteem, enhancing presentation skills and developing a love and respect for the arts.
