Dr.Debasish Bhattacharya, CMD - Disha Eye Hospitals talking to News Reporters at Disha Eye Hospitals Durgapur First Anniversary Celebrations. Disha Eye Hospital Durgapur celebrated its first anniversary on 13 January 2013. Dignitaries like Mr Apurba Mukherjee, Mayor of Durgapur Municipal Corporation, Mr Ajay Nanda, Commissioner of Police and noted painters Shri Subhaprasanna, Sri Prakash Karmakar, Sri Jogen Chowdhury & Sri Samir Aich were present on the occasion. The celebration began with a sit and draw competition at Durgapur Haat for the children aged 5 to 12 years and was judged by the eminent artists. This was followed by patient education programme on different eye problems. Employees of Disha Eye Hospital put up a cultural performance and Bangla band Chandrabindoo belted out some of their hit songs to enthral the audience. Disha Eye Hospital, Durgapur was solely established to fulfil the needs of our esteemed patients residing in and near Durgapur, as they previously had to travel long distances to Barrackpore to avail specialised treatment. Disha Durgapur caters to patients travelling all the way from places like Andal, Raniganj, Asansol, Dhanbad as well as Bihar, Birbhum, Bankura and Jharkhand.
