The XCR-L is a very interesting and entirely unique rifle that was disqualified nearly 20 years ago from competing in the Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle program due to a minor technicality. This is after being contracted to develop a rifle for the SCAR competition that some feel could have won, and eventually been the choice of US Special Operations Forces during the Global War on Terror. The bottom line: this is an exceptionally simple to operate and incredibly well-made rifle that is accurate, durable, fully ambidextrous, with excellent ergonomics.
